Artist Statement

You are beautiful.

I am beautiful.

Our beauty is worth exploring.

Through my work I attempt to discover the aesthetic concept of beauty through various forms of mixed media grounded in the psychedelic and the abstract. Is beauty itself inherent or is it merely a projection of our conscious and unconscious experiences and judgment? Does beauty have a belief system? Is symmetry and sacred geometry the argument for a universal beauty justified by mathematics? My work and creative energy utilizes the complete spectrum of our sensory understanding to hopefully communicate self-reflection, positivity and hope. I work towards this vision using balance and maintaining an appreciation of a peaceful aesthetic. The foundation of my focus stems from the study of philosophers Immanuel Kant and Alan Watts.  I wish to see if there is a basic truth to beauty and be self aware in my creative process keeping Kant’s "Critique of Aesthetic Judgment" in mind. The production itself is a part of the journey equally as significant as the end result. Meditating on the moment of creation as well as the performance or display and embracing the now of just being is a direct influence from Watt’s 1966 well received book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are. My artistic mission is beautiful creations that foster connections and promote kindness all while being mindful of the stream of consciousness and embracing the controlled accident.

Life is Art.

Art is Life.

Life is beautiful.
